Ahmadu Bello University distance learning program have made it easy and affordable for students as it employ the pay per course structure which means the tuition fee of ABU distance learning depend on number of course offered.

The per course fee structure of the e-learning programme makes it very affordable for anyone willing to learn to get started immediately. Students do not have to pay any huge upfront costs and can take their courses as funds become available to them.

How To Apply For ABU Distance Learning Center

ABU Distance Learning has some procedure to follow as recommended by the institution to apply for the application form. However, the steps are as follows:

  1. Candidates are to visit ABU DLC official page to register
  2. Click on ‘Get Started‘ and fill the below information

  3. Click on ‘Create Account
  4. Once you are able to log in to the portal, on the left side, click on TRANSACTION, then click on FEES
  5. Register all courses you are meant to take this semester by checking them which automatically calculates your total fees for you
  6. Click on pay fees and you will be redirected to a web pay page
  7. Enter your card details (Mastercard/Verve Card)

Bachelor Programmes

How much does tuition cost?

Tuition is charged on a per-course basis, which is N10,000 per course. keep in mind that other fees apply as stated above.

What is the duration of the programme?

The programme runs for a minimum of four and maximum of six academic sessions for UTME candidates, while for Direct Entry candidates, a minimum of three and maximum of five academic sessions.

The BNSc programme is an 8 semester course for students that enter the programme through direct entry and begin from 200 level.

What is the grading system like?

Semester grades are calculated as Grade Point Averages (GPA) on the basis of A, B, C, D and F, which are equivalent to 5, 4, 3, 2, and 0 grade points (GP), respectively.

This means that A is 70-100, B is 60-69, C is 50-59, D is 46-49 and E is 40-45, with F being 0-39.

What is the minimum pass mark?

The minimum pass mark is 40% or GP of 1.00 hence a minimum CGPA of 1.00 is required for graduation.


    Master Programmes

    Do I need to visit zaria campus once I become a student?

    Students are not required to visit the Zaria campus as there are resource centers in Abuja, Lagos, Zaria and Port Harcourt.

    What is the programme duration? Can it be fast tracked?

    The MBA programme is 24 months for students with a background in Business Administration and 36 months for students without a Business Administration background.

    To fast track, you will be expected to take courses during the third semester (mop-up/fast track semester).

    How will I attend lectures?

    All course materials are preloaded on an OTG device called a Vigidrive. Students can access their lecture materials offline via the vigidrive or online via the LMS (learning management system). All assignments, quizzes, forums and other course work are also done via these platforms.

    Will I need internet to access my course content?

    You do not need internet to access your course content because they are already preloaded and internet will only be required when you need to submit assignment.

However, these center are where you’ll be doing your screening and probably exams as you have the opportunity to choose any that suit you or closer to your destination.
