What is the University of Ibadan(UI) JAMB cut off mark?

Many might be wondering what is the cut off mark for university of Ibadan that got the public attention most especially aspiring students seeking to study at the prestigious institution.

Generally, the cut-off mark is the minimum qualifying score or percentage set by an educational institution to determine an aspirant’s eligibility for admission into a particular course or program. 

The cut-off mark is typically based on various factors, including the competitiveness of the course, the number of available seats, the overall performance of applicants, and the specific requirements of the institution

The JAMB cut off mark for University of Ibadan (UI) has announced to the general public and aspirants that the institution’s UTME cut off mark for 2022/23 is now set to 200 for all courses.

This means for any aspirants to be eligible to apply for UI 2023/24 session, he/she must have attained a minimum of 200 overall score in UTME and choose UI as first choice option.

Note: Due to the competitiveness of University of Ibadan, we strongly advise students with jamb scores between the range of 200-220 to switch to a less competitive course based on our past experience

University of Ibadan Departmental/Post UTME Cut off mark?

Post UTME, short for Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, is an examination conducted by Nigerian tertiary institutions to crosscheck students beyond UTME score. It is the second phase of the admission process.

The University of Ibadan also has a cut off mark set aside for each of its offered courses for aspirants/students to be eligible or qualified for the course.

Though the general UTME cut off mark still stands at 200, the institution’s departmental cut off mark is put in place after the Post UTME is concluded. This implies that the below departmental cut off mark takes action immediately after the Post-UTME is done.

Also, the University of Ibadan has stated that all candidates must attain a minimum of 50 in the Post UTME exam to be considered or eligible for admission.

How to Calculate University of Ibadan Departmental/Post Aggregate Score?

Aggregate score is over 100 and it’s the combination of JAMB score and Post UTME score which implies you have to get a good grade in both exams to be certain of your admission.

This aggregate score is what is used as the departmental cut off mark for each course offered in the University of Ibadan. Also, note that the aggregate score is 100% consisting of (50% JAMB score and 50% Post UTME score).

The below is how to calculate the aggregate score:

  • Divide your JAMB score by 8 
  • Divide your post utme score by 2 
  • Add the two results, what you get is your UI aggregate score for admission

When will University of Ibadan Post-UTME form be out?

The University of Ibadan 2023/24 Post UTME screening exercise is now open for registration from Monday, 23 October 2023 and expected to close on Friday, November 17, 2023.

We implore all aspirants both UTME and DE candidates to take advantage and register on time before the deadline date for registration as stated by the institution.

How to Apply/register for UI Post UTME Screening Exercise

Below is the step-by-step guides on how to register for University of Ibadan Post UTME form online.

  1. All candidates are required to log on to UI admission portal using their JAMB registration number (e. g. 12345678EG) and Surname in lowercase as password (e.g. olatunji, jimoh, egbeleye)
  2. Upon successful login, a Portal access fee of N3000 and Screening fee of N2000 should be paid through the UI admission portal.
    Note: Candidate’s valid Telephone number and valid e-mail address are to be provided at the point of payment.

After a successful payment, candidates are expected to complete their bio-data form provided on the portal, submit and then print out the application form.

When will UI Post UTME Exam Commence

According to the management of University of Ibadan, the Post UTME examination is expected to commence from Monday, 27 November 2023 to Friday, 01 December 2023.

However, the examination date for each candidates will be communicated to you through email and telephone number filled during the course of registration.

NOTE: The University will not take responsibility for failure to get information as a result of invalid email addresses and non-functional phone numbers.
